5. What type of page units do you want?

[This affects the measurement of drawing entities on the page so that, for example, if the page units are inches you might use a font height of 0.08 inches whereas you might use 2 millimeter if using metric page units.]

Inches

Millimeters

6. What type of units do you use to record data?

Metric

English (Imperial)

7. What is the output page size? if other, specify:

8. Does your report have a border?

No, we do not need a border.

Yes, please use the following width and height:

9. Do you need specific margins?

[To work with most printers we recommend that the top of the printable area be no taller than 10.15". Also please keep in mind faxed copies or copies from various printers may change the physical measurement of the report. We physically measure the report you send us to try and match exactly. That is why it is important to tell us measurements or write measurements on the report you send.]

No, we do not need specific margins.

Yes, please use the following margins:

10. Do you want a particular log scale?

[For example, 5 ft per inch or 1 meter per 25 mm]

No, we do not want a specific log scale.

Yes, please use the log scale:

11. Do you want a default depth on the first page of the log?

[Users can specify depth per page on a per-bolehole or per-project basis. The default applies if neither of these has been specified. For example, if the log body is 7 inches and the desired scale is 1 inch = 5 feet, the default depth per page would be 35'.]

No, we do not want a default log depth.

Yes, please set default depth to:

12. Do you want variable scale ticks and text?

[If the log is very shallow or very deep we can set the scale automatically to adjust the ticks and number.]

No, we do not want variable scale ticks and text.

Yes, please set at follows:

13. Which method do you use when recording sample data?

Sample Depth and Sample Bottom

Sample Depth and Sample Length - If Length, which units?:

14. How many Blow Count fields?

3

4

15. How do you want to display blow counts? (for example, stacked, side-by-side, etc)

16. Do you want gINT to automatically calculate your N-value from the blow count field?

No, just a field for N-Values.

Yes, calculate N-Values from blow counts.

17. Where does your sample data print?

18. Do you want Component Lithology?

[We can set this up so that each component of the Lithology description is chosen from a drop-down list and formatted automatically into a sentence at output time. If you are interested in this option, please download the Component Lithology Ordering Materials, follow the enclosed instructions, and edit and return the spreadsheet and Word document to gINT software. Click on the following for more information: Component Lithology Explanation.]

No, we do not want Component Lithology.

Yes, we want Component Lithology and we will specify the fields using the Component Lithology Ordering Materials.

19. Are there any variable columns?

[Meaning that if they do not have data, they will not display and the Lithology description column (or other columns) will expand and shift. Please be very specific about which columns are variable.]

No, we do not have any variable columns.

Yes, we have one or more variable columns (please specifiy):

20. Do you need to allow for WOR/WOH?

[Weight Of Rod, Weight Of Hammer]

No.

Yes, we need to allow for WOR/WOH.

21. Do you want to handle refusal manually or automatically?

[For example, automatic generation of refusal notes would generate 45-46-50/3" if Blows First = 45, Blows Second = 46, and Blows Third = 50 with a sample length of 15".]

Manual

Automatic

22. Do you have any formatting requirements for your data?

[For example, date formats, depths, numerical data for labs test, etc. We configure your reports so that no matter how data is entered, it will output your log to your specifications.]

No, we do not have any formatting requirements.

Yes, here are our formatting requirements:

23. Do you want units after values in the log header?

[For example, Elevation 125.7 feet or Elevation 125.7.]

No, do not include units after values in the log header.

Yes, include units after values in the log header.

24. Do you have a sample recovery field in your data? If yes, how do you want the data input? How output?

[gINT Software recommends entering data in the same units as you log the data, and letting gINT calculate percent or anything else on output.]

No, there is no sample recovery field.

Yes, there is a sample recovery field.

Input is in the following form:

Output is in the following form:

25. If a field in the log header is blank (such as Elevation), what do you want to display?

[For example "Not Surveyed" or "---".]

Nothing. Leave the field blank.

Display the following text:

26. Do you input raw lab testing data?

[Do you need to input raw lab data and have gINT perform calculations, or will you input the final data directly?]

[For a list of the lab tests that are supported in gINT and descriptions of the standard lab testing graphs, refer to the gINT Geotechnical Lab Testing page. Custom lab test tests can be programmed in VBA by the user (or by gINT Software for a fee) using the gINT Rules facility in gINT Professional.]

IMPORTANT: Email all of the following items to us in electronic form (send to customwork@gintsoftware.com):

  • Please send an electronic example of your log report as a PDF or graphic file, and include lots of representative data (see examples starting on the next page)
  • If you are an existing client, email us your gINT library file (.glb) and a gINT project file (.gpj) with data. Sending us a sample project file saves us time (and saves you money) enabling us to test our work as we go, without having to input lots of data. If you are not sure where to find your library file click the "File" menu and select "System Properties" within gINT. You will see the name and location of the library file in yellow.
  • If you are requesting Component Lithology (#17), please download the Component Lithology Ordering Materials. This includes instructions, and a spreadsheet and Word document for you to modify. These enable you to specify the list of fields, the contents of each one's drop-down list at input, and the order and formatting for output. Edit and return the spreadsheet and Word document to gINT software.
  • If you want us to include your company logo in your reports, please email us a copy of the logo.

ALSO IMPORTANT: Before sending your sample report, look over the Bad Sample and Good Sample Log illustrations.
