GEO5 EARTH PRESSURE
GEO5 Earth Pressure helps you determine active, passive and at-rest earth pressures that act on structural elements. You can easily compare parameters such as the overall vertical and horizontal force components.
Key Features
- Define soil layers with different properties using either project-specific data or the built-in soil parameters database of common soil types (USCS)
- Import soil parameters from gINT
- Apply an unlimited number of surcharge loads to structures of varying configurations, including trapezoidal, strip, and concentrated load distributions
- Apply an unlimited number of equivalent external forces for earth anchors, safety fences, etc., to evaluate their influences on system performance
- Model water conditions both in front of and behind the structure, including artesian water conditions
- Specify surface terrain and subsurface stratigraphy behind the structure
Analysis and Design Capabilities
- Perform analyses against a variety of earth pressure theories and methods, including Mazindrani, Coulomb, Müller-Breslau, Absi and Sokolovski)
- Analyze performance throughout staged construction
- Analyze for effective or total earth pressures
- Analyze earth pressures of overconsolidated soils
- Analyze design based on safety factors or limit state design methodology
- Analyze for earthquake effects, including Mononobe-Okabe and Arrango methods
