Government Required gINT v. 4 Log Reports:
  Minnesota Department of Transportation
  Foundation Log

  English units input, English or Metric units output, depending on the value in the Output Units field in the Project table.  Note that units-sensitive data embedded within text (e.g., stationing and soil/rock descriptions) cannot be converted to Metric units.  The operator must type in the final units in these cases.

MN_DOT.GLB
  gINT library file containing:
The one log form (FDN N60) and all auxiliary items:  symbols, lookup lists, User System Data items, etc.  This is a fully functional library.

MN_DOT.GDT
  gINT project data template.  You will clone this file to create new project files.

MN_DOT.GPJ
  gINT project file containing one borehole of example data.  You can use this file to clarify any input procedure questions by looking at the way the data was entered in the Input application.  You can also output this data using the report template to see what the final output looks like.

MN_DOT.DOC
  Usage documentation from MN DOT in Word '97 format.

MN_DOT.PPT
  MN DOT classification scheme supplied by MN DOT in Power Point format.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:
1.  Run the downloaded MN_DOT.EXE from any folder.
2.  It will ask you for the location of gINT.  Supply the appropriate folder (usually c:\program files\gintw).
3.  It will ask you if you wish to make a backup.  This is usually unnecessary for this installation but it will not hurt and will provide an extra margin of safety for certain configurations.
4.  Below we will name the folder you installed into as "gINT".  The files will located in the following folders:
  MN_DOT.GLB:  gINT
  MN_DOT.DOC:  gINT
  MN_DOT.PPT:  gINT
  MN_DOT.GDT:  gINT\DATATMPL
  MN_DOT.GPJ:  gINT\PROJECTS

For example, if you installed the files into C:\PROGRAM FILES\GINTW, the GPJ file will be located in C:\PROGRAM FILES\GINTW\PROJECTS.

If you want the files in different folders, move them using Windows Explorer.

SPECIAL NOTES:
1.  The MN_DOT.GLB library file is meant to be used by itself.  DO NOT MERGE into your library.  When you are working on a MN DOT job, anywhere in gINT, select the File:System Properties menu item and change the library file to MN_DOT.GLB.  When you want to work on a non-MN DOT job, switch back to your usual library using the same means.

2.  Your logo and company name will be printed automatically on the log based on the "Consultant" field in the PROJECT table.  This is a library table lookup list.  If your company name is not in the list, please contact us and we will update the list and logo library and supply the updated list and logo to MN DOT.
