gINT President Speaks at AGS Conference
Windsor, CA, June 3, 2008—gINT Software, Inc., announced today that company president Salvatore Caronna will be delivering a paper entitled “The State of Data Interchange in Geotechnical Practice in the United States” at the Association of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Specialists (AGS) data format conference that will take place on Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham in the United Kingdom. The paper will present new research gathered from a survey in the USA regarding data interchange and data management practices.
The AGS Data Format conference will review current initiatives that improve and broaden the use of the AGS format, but one key area of interest for this conference is the new international initiative called Data Interchange for Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Specialists (DIGGS), in which Mr. Caronna serves on the design committee. The DIGGS project embraces the principles of the data dictionary developed in the U.K. but utilizes Extensible Mark-Up Language (XML) to broaden the potential range of usage.
