gINT Software Releases Enterprise Version for Centralized Management of Subsurface Data

New SQL Server Version Helps Companies Manage and Report on High-Volume Data

Santa Rosa, CA, May 5, 2009—gINT Software, Inc.

gINT Software has released its new SQL Server version of gINT, called gINT Enterprise. Offering unlimited centralized data storage, multi-project reporting and dramatically extended querying power, gINT Enterprise moves beyond the limitations of the Access database used in the standard versions of gINT, offering a far superior range of subsurface data management capabilities.

"Our new enterprise version brings gINT to unprecedented levels of performance," said Salvatore Caronna, founder and president of gINT Software. "The powerful SQL Server back end makes gINT's reporting capabilities virtually unlimited and opens the door for a tremendous shift in the way companies can manage their geotechnical and geoenvironmental data."

gINT Enterprise is designed for clients with large volumes of geotechnical or geoenvironmental data. The expansive facilities of SQL Server enable the centralization of high-volume subsurface data. Centralization is critical for larger organizations, whose databases can be fragmented, housed in multiple locations across a nation or the globe. A well-architected centralized database makes data easy to retrieve and analyze and can help prevent expensive re-drilling.

With centralization comes the opportunity for standardization of the subsurface database. gINT Enterprise offers a large selection of tools to help organizations structure their databases and reports in an efficient way that meets the varying needs of multiple end users. Standardization of databases yields improved accuracy, streamlined data entry, improved querying abilities and also gives organizations the ability to enforce consistency across all data resources.

An additional benefit of gINT Enterprise is the ability to implement full data backups using industry-standard SQL Server tools.

Data in gINT Enterprise can be easily shared with related software programs such as GIS, CAD, contouring and modeling applications, and more. gINT Enterprise also includes a new and improved version of gINT's add-in for ESRI's ArcGIS. This new gINT for ArcGIS will enable users to work not only with borehole logs and fence diagrams, but also with graphs, histograms, and tables. Users can also easily share data in a gINT Enterprise database with their clients through custom Web portals that pull data from the SQL Server database.

To help clients gain the most from gINT Enterprise, gINT Software offers a full range of consulting services, from database design and report creation, to integration with other software and integration of legacy data. For example, gINT Software can build validation rules, lookup lists, and auto-calculations for end-users to improve data quality and expedite data entry.

"Client requests for this product have been high," Mr. Caronna commented, "and we expect that many of our clients who have high volumes of data will upgrade to gINT Enterprise in the very near future."
