COMPANY BACKGROUNDER

gINT® provides the world's most popular geoenvironmental and geotechnical software for fully customizable borehole logs, fence diagrams for cross-sections, geotechnical lab testing and other professional engineering reports.

What differentiates gINT from other software products is its powerful relational database system. Only through a completely customizable relational database program can users gain the flexibility of full control over the design of their database structures, report formats and symbol libraries. Building user-friendly software upon a high-powered relational database core has enabled gINT to meet the usability needs of thousands of users with differing individual requirements for data presentation.

Enhancing software performance to meet customer needs is where gINT Software excels. gINT's robust, highly customizable software architecture enables users to set up and modify their gINT program as needed to enhance productivity and meet internal and external demands for data management and reporting. gINT also offers tremendous ease of use as well, streamlining data entry and eliminating many redundancies inherent in manual processes, dramatically increasing ROI for users.

With a 20-year track record of success, gINT geoenvironmental and geotechnical software sets the industry standard and is the product of choice for numerous transportation authorities, government agencies, and leading civil engineering firms.

A History of Pioneering Innovations

gINT Software founded in 1986 in Santa Rosa, California, as Geotechnical Computer Applications (GCA) by Salvatore Caronna, M.S.,P.E., in response to a need for a more efficient geotechnical software package. The first copy of gINT, a DOS version, was sold in 1986 and quickly gained popularity in geotechnical and geoenvironmental user bases throughout the 1990s. The program's first Windows® version was released in 1997. Since then, gINT has provided numerous new releases, each with improved functionality and additional advanced features, bringing it to today's peak of high performance.

A number of high-profile clients and projects have helped catapult gINT Software into the spotlight. For example, gINT was used in the building of the Hong Kong airport and featured in Plant, Covil, and Hughes's book, "Site Preparation for the new Hong Kong International Airport." gINT was also used in the "Big Dig" in Boston, the Massachusetts Central Artery/Tunnel Project, the largest, most complex and most technologically challenging engineering project in American history. In addition, gINT and the compatible PLog program for handheld PDAs are being used on the U.S. Steel Gary Works project in Gary, Indiana, which is the largest RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) project in the U.S. The selection of gINT for large-scale projects such as these, requiring solid data management and extensive report generation, testifies to the software's range, power, and reliability.

In the year 2001, with growing staff and the need for more production and development capacity, gINT Software moved to its current location in Windsor, California, in the heart of the Sonoma County's beautiful wine country, approximately an hour's drive north of San Francisco and Silicon Valley. From this vantage point, gINT Software conducts its operations globally through local distributors and resellers in key areas of the world.

Since its founding in 1986, gINT Software has created a line of products that have helped thousands of users streamline data management and report generation. gINT strives to continue this tradition by continually enhancing its products with signficant developments in usability and performance. The goal of gINT Software has been, and continues to be, to streamline and automate data-related tasks and eliminate the redundancies of effort required in recordkeeping that is done manually or with non-specialized software products.

gINT supports a vast array of import/export formats and is highly accessible by most industry standard programs and data today.
